At Goetz, we understand the need for healthy and sustainable business practices—and so do our customers. We're proud to lead the way by taking concrete steps to reduce the environmental impact of our operations while empowering our customers to make educated environmental choices about the paper used to create their print collateral.
Goetz is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes (PEFC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
The SFI sustainable forestry certification program is one of the largest in the world. This program promotes responsible environmental behavior and sound forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests of exceptional conservation value. Chain-of-custody certification means a company has a tracking system in place that identifies the amount of certified, uncertified and recycled content in the forest products it buys, uses or sells. Our SFI chain of custody certification also connects us with a strong network of progressive suppliers of environmentally-friendly paper products.
By participating in Carbonfund.org's CarbonFree program, Goetz Printing offsets 100% of its electrical consumption through a blend of wind and solar certificates and neutralizes its remaining carbon emissions footprint (natural gas and transportation) through its support of reforestation projects based both in the United States and abroad.
“Goetz Printing has a history of being eco-conscious: it’s certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, Sustainable Forestry Initiative and the Program for the Endorsement of Forestry Certifications,” said Eric Carlson, Executive Director of Carbonfund.org. “Now Goetz Printing is taking the natural next step of offsetting its carbon footprint. We’re proud to help it go CarbonFree.”
All of the inks and coatings we use are non-petroleum and vegetable based. Spent fountain solutions are handled in accordance with EPA and state regulations and we recycle all excess paper and metal plates.
